This quote by Swami Vivekanand sums up the process of education so well, and something which is the essence of my life as a teacher. Every person is born with immeasurable talent, unimaginable prowess and unfathomable depth of mind. There is a hidden beauty in every human being, that needs to be brought out for the world to see. A few enlightened souls realise their potentials on their own and tread the path of actualization. Most others, need someone to show them the path and guide them towards salvation. Their state can be no different from a musk deer; who finds an ethereal fragrance coming from somewhere near, not realising its coming from inside him!

As a teacher its my duty to pave way for the progress of every student who comes to me for support. A student is a resource, filled with aura of the sun, capable of bringing upon the dawn of development for the nation. Accepted, that no one is perfect, but there is perfection in everyone. Its just the vision that matters; what spectacle we use to judge a situation, and further how we respond to it. 

We often blame our luck for our failures. Do we ever fault our own self for the debacle? Luck is something which is not in our control, and that’s why we feel it safe enough to put it all to luck. There are other bigger factors responsible for success; and the lack of them for failure. I believe every hard work done with a positive intent will definitely bring success. Here, the two words hard work (मेहनत) and positive intent (नीयत) are the keys. The quality of these two decide the chances of our success and not just luck. First and foremost is मेहनत, then comes नीयत and finally किस्मत (Luck)!

Education is not an achievement, rather a process; a continuous process that opens all the avenues for one’s overall development. As Dr. kalam used to say “Excellence happens not by accident. It is a process.” Excellence is what we need to chase and strive for. Name, fame, success and everything materialistic will eventually materialize.
